Who is Rachel Caven?

Rachel CavenHi! I’m Rachel

I am a Registered Nutritionist based in Ottawa, Ontario. I specialize in creating individual eating plans based on your specific needs and goals. Since no two people are exactly the same, no eating plan will be exactly the same.

My philosophy

I believe that our bodies were designed to be healthy and that we have an innate ability to heal ourselves. Unfortunately, our toxic environment, stressful lifestyles and lack of quality food are hindering our ability to heal. Canada has one of the most advanced healthcare systems in the world, yet we are plagued with chronic diseases. We are a nation that is overfed but undernourished!

Our advanced society and increased access to information has just made us more confused about what, when, why, and how to eat food. Food needs to return to its original purpose of being delicious, nourishing, health promoting, and enjoyable. It is my mission to educate people on how eating well can be easy and improve your health and quality of life.

A little more about me…

I studied Bio-Medical Sciences at the University of Guelph, graduating with honours in 2006. In this program I learned just how complex our bodies are and how many processes are in place to bring the body back to health. I knew with this incredible innate ability to heal, there had to be something missing in our modern medical system. I then studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and became a member of the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners.

Ashley Arbour Nutrition

Ashley Arbour Nutrition

Hi! I’m Ashley

I am a Registered Nutritionist based out of Ottawa, Ontario. I specialize in sports nutrition and skin nutrition. I am lucky and grateful that I have the opportunity to combine my passion for good food and knowledge of nutrient timing to empower my clients and lead them on a path towards health and nutritional freedom.

My philosophy

I believe in getting back to basics for better health and embrace nutrient-packed minimally processed, whole foods. I stay up to date on the latest nutritional breakthroughs and empower my clients by educating them. There is so much information available, and new programs and supplements coming out every day, it is hard to decipher what is fact and fiction. My goal is to teach you how to live “diet” free for the rest of your life.

Our bodies are created and built from the raw materials that we eat, so the more suitable our food choices are and specific to us, the better structures we can build. Nutritional imbalances and weaknesses are unique to every person and so are the programs and prescriptions I design. I take not only what goes into and on your body into consideration, but I also consider environmental pollution, metal toxicity, food sensitivities, cultural sensitivities and genetic predispositions.

A little more about me…

I studied Health Sciences with a specialization in Nutrition at the University of Ottawa, and graduated in 2012. Throughout my university I worked at Goodlife and The Athletic Club as a personal trainer creating exercise programs and rehabilitation exercises. I then went on to study a license to council through the College of Dieticians of Ontario. I received my designation and am in good standing as an academic affiliate through the Dieticians of Ontario.

My background in exercise physiology and passion for natural living has guided me through my career. Whether you are looking to enhance athletic performance, manage a chronic health condition, combat dry skin and hair, lose weight, or simply improve your diet and lifestyle, I will coach you to success!
